I don't like to make new years resolutions. However, I do like to start the new year with a fresh mind, fresh ideas, and new goals, if you will. As I grow to understand myself more as an adult, I find different things that I am passionate about and want to pursue further in my life. I would like to share a couple goals/wants for the upcoming year.

1. I want to become a runner. Not just a "I run sometimes and hate it" kind of person, but by the end of the year I would like to be settled into a place where I am cofortable running, and feel it as an outlet.
2. I would like to buy a journal for the year, and chronicle anything and everything that drives me. People, experiences, colors, fashion, my family. etc.
3. I want to travel to a city I have never been. AND really experience it. I really hope that city is Seattle. I have always wanted to visit, so hopefully I can make that happen!
4. I would like to compile a list of my favorite vegetarian recipes and create a book for my friends and family. I have so many recipes that I have tried/created and I would like to have them all organized for reference!
5. I want to bake lots of French Pastries/Breads. I really want to make a classic french croissant. I want to make choux. I want to make macarons (hopefully I will tomorrow). I made a classic french fruit tart for xmas dinner!! I want to master some french pastries people!

Did everyone have a good New Years Eve Celebration? I celebrated with some wonderful people and danced the night away. Followed by spectacular eats the next day courtesy of my mum. Texas Caviar!!!

Starting with some NYE worthy dresses. and some beautiful fall coats! LOVE.
I really want to wear a bright color for new years or white. i dont know what it is but I JUST WANT TO.
Last year I wore black and turquoise. The year before that I wore red. I have a pretty little black frock I could wear. Maybe I could fashion a big BOW to add to the back? We shall see. What do you think?

Newest room inspirations. I am feeling the string lights, floral bedding, french accents, pops of color, BRIGHT blue, fuzzy rugs, & simpleSimpleElegance. I want to re-decorate my boudoir. Like, right now. I also need to get on re-organizing my dressing room, it's in SHAMBLES. ugh! I cannot seem to keep it decent. I need some new organization ideas. Need to figure out better plan for all my shoes.

Feeling it! Anyone excited about fall baking/cooking? I am crazy about it! I have already begun planning holiday meals, tried out cake pops, cookie pops, made a cheesecake, made a few new fall recipes! (mushrooms in everything i touch : ) )

ALSO as always the early nye planner that I AM. I already have that on the brain and what to WEAR? Where to go? Have you guys thought of any ideas/inspiration on what to wear, exciting outings for this new years eve??

Today I am checking my emails and I find one from shopbop on a french line called IRO.

and I was stunned, beautiful tailoring, fantastic fabrics, definitely one of my new favorites!

This line will definitely serve as inspiration for my spring shopping list. neutrals, tailoring, loose-fit, draping, and a little bit of shiny and embellishment in there too ; )

I know I have been absent, we moved in to our new house!

so exciting!

the two of us have been so tired, and crazy! you dont realize how much work is put in to a move. Much LESS, all the things we didnt have and needed to buy and all the SPACE!! a house is not the same as an apartment or living in one room in your parents house!

I will be back to blogging soon, but until then we will continue to organize, build and decorate til we are finished!

Tonight, we are currently, drinking red wine, listening to spanish guitar music, and cooking italian..... my idea of perfect ;))

HI bloggers!!! I know I havent not been good about blogging lately. i have been sick and have been working like crazy, been dealing with university tasks and LIFE. but I'm back! Looking forward to spring for me always come quickly. We do not have much of a fall/winter here in Texas, so most of the year is spent in spring/summer wear. As we are approaching spring I decided to browse through some files and see what spring collections spoke to me. I came across Chloe, a line that I mostly always love and follow. The line has gone through many creative changes and I really like what's offered for spring/summer. I feel very connected to the nudes, pastels, whites, that have been shown in a lot of s/s collections. I also am very interested in the simplicity and purity of a lot of the lines for spring.

Le Parisian.

I watched Inglorious Basterds yesterday and was captivated by Melanie Laurent. She played Shosanna/Emannuelle, a jewish girl who witnessed her entire family being murdered by Nazi soldiers. She escapes and the movie goes on to show a parallel of different characters and how it all comes together! A very funny movie!

Anyway, she was just so gorgeous in the entire movie, that I had to find more on her.
What do you know, she is talented and stunning. She is an actress, director, and budding musician.

Love the lighting, the ethereal nature of these photos, the delicate yet intricate clothing, well all of it really.
Anyhow, did you all enjoy your little break? Did you eat lots of calories goodies! I cooked and cooked and drank wine. Any holiday involving wine and decadent food is right up my alley! ; )

Any of you bloggers knit? The weather here is finally drifting towards cold-ish, which makes me want the perfect cozy knits, scarves, mittens, hats....therefore I want to see if I can make any on my own!!
I have been wanting a circle scarf forever, a HUGE chunky soft one, so maybe I can just make myself one.

Soon enough I will be moving into a new apartment! This has got me crazy into design lately. You can find inspirations for decorating in so many different areas. I find that I love clean aesthetics. I love pops of color, fuzzy add-ins and cozy surroundings! I am absolutely 100% in love with french beds!

I've always wanted my own place, but felt moving in with someone would only be something I would do if I knew it was right....and the time has come! I have been waiting for the day that I would get to collaborate with someone and decorate my own place!

What am I newly feeling fanatical over?? Gold. I have been slowly pondering gold, day in and day out after I saw some spring 10' shows... more pointedly one show. Balmain. I have been a fan for a few seasons now and I see no end in sight... Some feel like Christopher Decarnin's designs are too flashy, unwearable, and wayyy too expensive, all may be true, (the last one is DEF. true for me), but I find constant inspiration in his "flashy" designs. I like that he loves strong cuts and loves shiny, glittery, metallic, sparkly things, because I will ALWAYS love them too. ;)

Anyhow, along with my sequin obsession I have been slowly immersing myself in a sea of gold.

Fashion Week Paris &more.

Loving Anna Selezneva, she's so darn cute! The red suede boots are to die for! I would wear all of these in a MILLISECOND...so beautiful. These girls definitely are making me love the cold weather we are getting in Texas right now, I am so excited for fall! Hopefully the cooler weather lasts, but here it never does.

Although, I did get to have a date night, saw Couples Retreat, had some Mexican food, slept in, spent Friday out with my favorites, celebrated my birthday AGAIN and cooked a delicious dinner last night: Totellini with asparagus, mushrooms, and a gorgonzola cream sauce!! Topped the whole weekend off with some Moscato and lovely downtime with the boy.

So, my birthday is in six days? yes, yes it is!

Birthday celebrations begin!! I have not found anything that I want to wear out, I have been so busy lately!! Therefore I have spent a considerable amount today doing that instead of the many other things I should be focusing on :) Always the procrastinator! Did anyone see GG last night? i watched it today on tivo, must say, I am glad to have it back! I'm very interested to see where this Carter/Serena thing goes! Anyway, I need to come up with something sick to wear for my birthday party/dinner. I think so far I want to wear my black leather over-the-knee boots, but what with.... I have no clue!

Today is the start of NY Fashion Week, officially, for spring and summer 2010.
I am excited to see what the designers will be showing and to see some new items and lines that will inspire me! I love love when a line or design speaks to me! I hope I see some for this season!

I WISH I was there like a lot of you are, but I will settle for sitting at home, drinking some french press coffee out of my NYC mug ;)

Hello, lovers

So, I am growing my hair out again.

After my extremely short bob, (I'm all about extremes), I decided it's time again for long locks. However, I hadn't decided for sure... what look/style I would go for once it started getting to the length I wanted. I realized (YES!) much to my amazement, I am approaching my goal length, so I set out searching for hair lengths, colors, and styles that interested me and suited what I had in mind. I came up with a few 'hair muses' that I love.

***I must say little miss Taylor, has impeccable style AND hair. I love her wavy, messy vibe she has going for her hair. I found her after browsing for personal styles I was interested in and VOILA I found my hair muse! She is most likely what I will shape my hair to look like :)

***oh, Megan FOX. Her hair is oh-so-perfect, and maybe just maybe she is too? I don't know what she does to keep it so beautiful and lush, but i want in on it. I want her hair color, EXACTLY. Well, I want her hair in general, buuuut I will settle for AT LEAST the color. So, lovely, right?

I was very intrigued by the idea of one of my favorite fashion illustrators collaborating with Classic novels bookcover designs. I discovered this collaboration over coffee and the paper yesterday morning. I did some searching and found these lovely pictures. I am so excited for the fresh, new looks for these classic novels. Pride and Prejudice, is my favorite! I thought I couldn't pass up sharing these with you. The last picture is Toledo's collaboration with Nordstrom. He painted the walls!! I LOVE!

Now, I leave the rest of my day to birthday planning, and outfit scheming!

DIY IDEAS JUL/AUG!

Back again lovers. I have some new ideas for July...August. Need some fun things to keep the rest of my summer occupied besides this BORING summer class I am taking ;)

Thankfully many of you fellow fashion bloggers have not been plagued with summer classes and have been exploring your summer fashion endlessly and have bestowed me with some lovely ideas for DIY's. YES, YES! Here are some pictures of the things I think could be do-able. I am crazy about trying to do the AD sandal/boots! There is NO WAY I could get a real pair, but I would love to try and see what I can come up with! I need to go to my favorite vintage store before work today and see if I can find some victim boots to try it with!!

So, I'll be honest, lately or over the past month... I have felt completely un-inspired. I have had so much time to worry about all the things going on in my life right now, not so much time to put effort into anything else. I have lately felt tinges of guilt. I have always been so passionate about my personal style, fashion, art, photography..etc. I haven't even been cooking! (which I LOVE to do). Anyhow, I am writing to tell you, I am back. I began to get that "old feeling", hehe. So I will try to get back to basics and start focusing more on what makes me happy and pursure this blog.

Some new changes in my life,

I recently dyed my hair red... well my lovely friend Ashley did, but anyway, it's done. and I love it!

I have also cut it, but only trim, because I waaaant my hair to be long! LONG LONG.

I am newly infatuated with shield sunglasses, wedges of all kinds, denim shirts, oversized t shirts, bralettes,red hair, vegan desserts (they are such a fun challenge), maxi skirts, mini skirts, and foam magazine (i need a subscription now please)

After finding out my bestest, best friend is pregnant (that's us in the photo above), I went on a rampage looking for photos of stylish ladies during their pregnancies. With as many people getting pregnant these days I figured I would find lots of people that had good "maternity style". Turns out I found myself looking at countless photos of Nicole Richie. She was and is (congrats on Number 2!) the epitome of pregnant mama chic'! I came up with some cool ideas for dressing for your body when you are pregnant. Now, I don't have personal experience, but these are some things I think could work out and ensure that during your pregnancy you look less frumpy, more radiant!

Stylish Mamacitas To Do List

Avoid tent like dresses. Nobody should look like they are wearing a "moomoo".
Do wear shirts and dresses that accentuate your burgeoning belly. Nothing is more beautiful than a proud, pregnant woman. Think "fitted".
Avoid too many patterns. Wear simple colors and styles. Black is my fave.
Accessorize! Wear colorful shoes, jewelry, scarves etc. Colors, patterns and textures can really liven up any wardrobe. Brightly colored shoes can really liven up any ensemble.
Wear belts underneath your belly! I don't know why, but I think it looks so chic! I love the idea of accentuating your big, beautiful belly!
Have fun. Wear what you feel good in. Don't let go of your personal/signature style just because you are pregnant.
Take care of yourself. Eat well, take your vitamins, drink lots of water, get some good ole' fashioned exercise.
Oh and if you have time (make time), Read Skinny Bitch Bun in the Oven. It's amazing!
Keep up with your skin. Wear moisturizer! Get Pedicures/Manicures.
Wear red lipstick! In other words, don't let your makeup routine go down the toilet. Continue "doing yourself up". You will feel better if you do. ; )

style inspiration of the moment: Stripes

I'm feeling stripes lately. I want to find some good basic striped pieces like the ones above and incorporate them into my wardrobe. I also like the idea of mixing stripes with other patterns. Navy and white stripes have always reminded me of Paris. I guess it goes back to Parisian style a la Jane Birkin, Catherine Deneuve, Brigette Bardot, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and Clemence Poesy. The last mentioned, Clemence is incredibly interesting. To me she isn't your average girl-of-the-moment basking in the glow of the spotlight. She has great style and her natural beauty fascinates me. I went through lots of photos of her at fashion shows and countless photos of her past film works. I chose a few personal favorites to share with you out of the vast array of pictures of her that I came across. On another note, brought up by her perfect red lipstain(see last picture of C.P.), I am still searching for the perfect red lip stain. I want to live in it once I do. HelpmefindoneASAP.

Channeling Anne Demeulemeester S/S 09

So, I was completely and totally stunned by Anne Demeulemeester's spring and fall lines. I just find her vision to be that of a genius. I love her darker looks and her gothic-inspired lines. So when her spring line debuted with tonal mix-ins, I think many people were ecstatic to see her branch out of her blacks, greys, white, browns...and bring in oranges and embroidery, and a breath of fresh air. I was looking at some of her stunning pieces from her spring line at luisaviaroma and browns fashion and I was dying! What I would do to pleated mini georgette dress, gathered poplin shirt, or the short puff skirt! AHHHHHH. love love love. Anyhow, seeing as I am a student and I do not have 240834985034 dollars to spend on three items or the entire collection ; ) I felt the need to find some affordable pieces that I could use to channel my need for Anne D style! Therefore a nail-biting search ensued for anything that reminded me of her spring line. Two days later I feel like I have compiled a few looks that make me optimistic about finding something I can afford! Anne Demeulemeester fall 09

So, I decided to finalllly do a post on Anne Demeulemeester's Fall Collection. Late in the game I know, but better late than never I say. Her fall collection, to me, was fantastic. It suited her androgyny and her masculinity perfectly. I found the edwardian interpretations, the riding boots, and the huge, twisted knits crazy! The feather headdresses blended wonderfully with the black/white palette and provided some whimsy to the dark nature of the line. Anne stayed true to her style with this collection, differing from her spring collection's colorful and greek interpretations. I think some people wanted to see her begin to open up more with colors after her spring collection and wondered why she went back to her darker, "safer" palette. On style.com, she was quoted as saying "It was more a matter of balance: the strength of black protecting the fragility of white. I wanted something to give women more of a masculine shape". I fell in love with her work, I can't get enough of the darker looks, and as you saw in my last post, I feel quite strongly attached to one color looks, which she obviously catered to! I want to find/make a feather headdress for fall! DIY!! I am completely coveting those ridiculously thick, luxurious knits she created. I neeeeeed to get my little hands on one of those. Also, I am in love with those riding boots! The textures, the draping, the "rib cage" corset....it's all amazing! Next I think I am going to do some interpretations of how i can bring her spring collection runway to "real way" in my closet. Off to work on a presentation for class tonight! Have a fantastic day.

Mono E Mono?

So, lately I have been enamored of one color palettes. I think the whole monochromatic look can be very chic and interesting. Using different textures and shades a look of all one color can be fun and interesting. These pictures are some inspirations I found on the runways, also the last is one I found on the Satorialist. Her ensemble is ridiculously beautiful and makes me want to immerse myself in everything bluuuue. ;) This is something I want to experiment with in my wardrobe: pictures to come. Also, I have so many diy's that i am in the middle of. I found a really neat backpack purse for a themed party (80s/90s party) and I want to stud it like crazy! I want it to be similar to the givenchy purse as she did here.

Anyway, I'm slacking on outfit photos and my diy's. I just have felt overwhelmed with lots lately. ANNNND, I have to leave and go to work in about 15 minutes, GREAT...

So, I decided to post on another favorite model of mine: Magdalena Frackowiak. Basically, she needs no introduction she's fantastic! Her killer facial structure(those cheekbones!), her legs(they go on for dayyyysss), her eyes, and her natural beauty. She is the face of Ralph Lauren and Kenzo.
